I'm 30 years old and I've been a musician since I first began guitar lessons from age 5. I elected into music right through school, took lessons that entire time with 20+ different teachers and went on to study music at university and I hold my bachelor of music in performance & composition. I have been a professional guitarist from my mid teens and have played countless gigs and taught hundreds of students in that time (hear me play here).
I am also an entrepreneur and run two music businesses with my brother Joel; Stormer Music and Brightside Music. We have built these from the ground up and have been basically self taught until recently when I joined the Entourage and now work with a business coach/mentor.
I've started this blog to join in the discussion around music, business, art and life. I will be posting about topics like why music/art matters, the interplay between music and business, entrepreneurship, musicianship, life and making it count. I've often thought about starting a blog, but have never taken the step (I suspect many people have this same urge) so this will be a journey for me, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes.
I hope you enjoy!
- Phil.
